Concerts  The Arundel Vocal Arts Society will hold its spring concert on Saturday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Annapolis Area Christian School, Gambrills Campus. David Daniel will make his second appearance as artistic director/conductor as the singers present "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!" The concert will open with the appropriately titled "Let Us Drink and Be Merry," a Round in three parts and one of several a capella pieces performed throughout the program. Singers will perform three light and amusing pieces from the contemporary suite Play with Your Food, by conductor/composer Paul Carey, recipient of a 2004 ASCAP special award. AVAS' captivating men's chorus will delight with "Liebe Und Wein" (Love and Wine). More traditional fare will include singers and accompaniment rendering "Chorus of Homage" by Johannes Brahms, "Der Tanz" (The Dance) by Franz Schubert, and "Waltz Scene" from Eugene Onegin, by Piotr Tchaikovsky. On a more poignant note, singers will round out the program with the always familiar and emotional "Days of Wine and Roses," and the concert finale "Auld Lang Syne" Tickets are a $15 tax deductible donation and may be purchased by calling 410-268-3131 or at the door.
